  The benefits of using a model railway range from being educational to developmental in a variety of real-world skills.  Handling something real with many benefits including:

  1. Planning routes including changing points.

  2. Understanding scientifics including linear motion, kinetic energy, traction and more. 

  3. The traction system converts the electrical energy into mechanical energy which enables the wheels to turn and, therefore, the train to accelerate and brake.

The school benefits from 'hiring' at no cost  a model railway.  It ranges from being educational to developmental in a variety of real-world skills.  They include science, technology, engineering and human resource planning.

The train layout shows a large empty space to accommodate a small town to be designed by pupils.
