The last contact with a school was in September 2023.  As soon as it is likely that pupils are reading this website, this page will be transferred to Part 4 here. There will be a pupil version. 

1. My introduction to community work was in the Scouts during Bob a Job week.  Won the Isle of Wight prize for most collected in 1956.

3. As a Queen Scout I attended the 50th year jamboree celebrations.  In 2006 I was Chairman of Ross-on-Wye Scout Group.  I played the bagpipe in the Cub Group singing "A Century of Scouting" here. It was played all over the world.

5. My life after leaving school and university has been within post-compulsory school education including colleges - 20%, universities 40%.

7. And 20% in the tourism industry as in item 5.

9. In 1989 I set up an international company and operated in a dozen countries within tourism  development. 
11.  I volunteered  from time to time.  There were four postings occupying five months: St Petersburg, Ukraine, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nepal.

My overseas experience included colleges and universities and in 1992 I became a Professor Honoris Causa in Switzerland after giving a series of lectures on a French judge and gastronome who died in 1826.  Brillat-Savarin.    Wiki    Corpulency and leanness scientifically considered  He would have liked!   Little www when I gave the lectures.

15. A six month venture in SW Poland in 1994 combined tourism management and development with volunteering as a teacher of English and Science in two schools: one secondary, the other grammar.  one morning in one. the afternoon in the other.

17. I retired in 2000 to care for my late wife who died in early 2017.
